Carved Out

This project was our second project of the semester, with our first being the creation of a plaster slab with dimensions being 10”x10”x1”. The objective of this assignment was to observe the amount of detail plaster can pick up when pouring molds and thus how much a little mistake in the carving process can create in the end. To create it, I first had to pour the two solid halves separately. Then once I opened it up, I was given free reign to carve away at both sides to test different textures and patterns and learning about plaster as a medium and its technicalities. Then to carve away a spree hole on goths sides for the slip to enter. Once all the steps were completed, casts can then be created.
